    Verdict

Monsea was easy to back on debut over 7f but ran well until fading into fourth inside the final furlong. He'll progress from that but a step up in trip may not be what's required at this stage. Hartnell improved considerably on his first run at York to finish second at Thirsk and will make a bold bid to go one better while Glasgow Central ran with some promise at Goodwood. TRENDSETTER catches the eye on pedigree being by Mastercraftsman out of a Dansili mare and a half-brother to a winning miler. It would be no surprise to see him attract market interest on debut and he could go very close if fully wound-up.
