      Verdict

      Byzantine Empire has never won on the Flat and was well beaten over course and distance last month but Ancient Capital was in good form around here last summer and has been lightly raced this season. Major Major got off the mark at Lingfield last month and followed up at Windsor. He will be fancied to complete his hat-trick, despite a further 4lb rise, but won’t find it easy against DIFFERENT TONE if Ed Walker’s charge converts winning form on Polytrack to this surface. Navarre Express should find a race this autumn but she tries a new trip on her handicap debut.
