Jennys Surprise just edged out Lac Sacre over 3m here last time but is now on a career-high mark. Shotgun Paddy hasn’t won in more than four years and is hard to catch right, though was on his best behaviour last time at Exeter and stays well. Harry Topper is another who is not the force of old while Pobbles Bay has disappointed this season. Bob Ford is hard to catch right but likes it here and can’t be ignored. MISTY MAI is another course winner on heavy going and she bounced back from a poor run here behind Jennys Surprise to score at Hereford. The extra yardage might just her turn the tables on Fergal O’Brien’s charge. Cailleach Annie might be improving and could play a part from near the foot of the weights.
