In depth

Verdict

An weak looking opener, where top weight Willy Willy is the TEAMtalk selection to give weight away all around. The nine-year-old relishes decent ground, so there may be slight doubts if the heavens open before they get underway, but his recent run in a Plumpton claimer after a long lay-off shows that he still retains enthusiasm for the game. Provided he does not succumb to the bounce factor, he looks good enough here. Norman Mason runs two here and both Jamorin Dancer and York Rite merit respect. The former doesn¿t mind a bit of cut and so any rain would make life easier for him, but the latter is likely to be best of the pair. After an eight month break, York Rite ran well for a long way before blowing up at Market Rasen recently and that will have straightened him out for this. His trainer has a tremendous strike rate at the track and York Rite is the one taken to give the selection most to do. Knight Of Silver is another with claims and any rain would slow the others down for him, but he always seems to find one or two too good and this looks no exception.
