Robyn Alexander was disappointing at Cheltenham last time, but that was a much better race than this, and the handicapper has dropped him two pounds as a result. He had earlier won nicely in non-handicap company at Fontwell, and a reproduction of that form should be good enough to account for these rivals. Dick Turpin was a course and distance winner in December but appears to be in the handicapper's grip at the moment, so a bigger threat may come from Tissifer, who hinted at a return to form when second in quite a competitive race at Doncaster last time. Sossus Vlei has been knocking at the door, and has decent claims of reaching the frame again, while Stamparland Hill ran reasonably well last time and takes a drop in class here.
