Verdict

Arantes was impeded at the last or would have got much closer to Bishop Wulstan at Newbury. That was major progress from his opening run over timber and further improvement will see him in the firing line. Brian Ellison can complete a quick double here via APTERIX, who has been a bit unfortunate not to have won by now and should find the quicker ground to his advantage after fading from the last over 2m1f on soft ground at Sedgefield. Zamoyski has gone backwards since some smart early form so Aldborough, a winner at Chepstow on the Flat for Ralph Beckett, looks more of a threat.
