Verdict

Cork maiden winner Aztec Eagle was disappointing tried in a handicap at Listowel. Joseph O’Brien runs two with Wayne Lordan’s mount Tremendous Leap looking the pick. He beat LETHAL POWER over a mile at the Curragh last month and is better off at the weights with the subsequent Gowran winner. However, Johnny Murtagh’s three-year-old has already proved himself over this longer trip whereas it’s a step into the unknown for his old rival. Sheila's Hope has had a brilliant campaign and is bidding for a fifth victory and a second over course and distance, though the easier going is a major concern. Still Standing was seeking a four-timer at the Curragh last week but may be in the handicapper’s grip now while Alcatraz has become disappointing.
