ULTRAMARINE (NAP) has improved since beaten a nose by Glengarra at Down Royal in July. Not disgraced when fourth in the Group 1 National Stakes last week, Joseph O’Brien’s colt is clear of these at the weights and finished well ahead of The Entertainer at the Curragh earlier. Mise Le Meas came up short in a Group 2 last time and it remains to be seen how well Straight Answer copes at this level having made a winning debut in soft ground at the Curragh. Eriskay is another maiden winner while Lopes Gold has her first start since May.
