A maximum field for this apprentice handicap but it would be foolish to rule out the evergreen Ducky Mallon, who has returned as good as ever this year. Hodd’s Girl is penalised for winning at Dundalk but finished ahead of Pulse Of Shanghai on the sand at Laytown before that and was successful earlier at Naas. Yester shares top weight but is still a maiden and Ginsburg, who has changed stables, hasn’t run since May. MULLACASH BUZZ followed up a second at Naas with a victory at Gowran three weeks ago. He’s gone up 5lb and Jack Cleary can only claim 4lb in this but the gelding has a good draw so will have no excuses. The in-form Royal Scholar has the assistance of Dylan Browne McMonagle so can’t be ignored and Lady Arwen has also been in decent form and the drop back to 7f will probably aid her cause but cheekpieces replace blinkers on Dabana after she failed to justify market support in a Roscommon maiden.
