In depth

Verdict

Jodie Townend gets the plum ride on Charlie Stout, who once again showed his liking for testing conditions when beating the smart Darver Star at Wexford last week. He's only been raised 2lb and has won from a higher mark so will be hard to beat. However, MARS HARPER has been racing in much better company and finished runner-up in a Punchestown Grade 2 in November. Georgie Benson's claim can see him off the mark over fences. Routine Excellence had been racing over hurdles before reverting to fences and scoring at Thurles though he's been hit with a 10lb rise. Fighting Fit completed a double early last year but hasn't raced since October while Gain De Cause disappointed when well supported at Navan last month.
