Mallowney has progressed from handicaps and landed a Listed contest in impressive style at Naas last time. The former has come through the ranks and after completing a double in handicaps ran a superb race when just failing to concede 7lb to Ted Veale in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham. Pique Sous was a long way behind stablemate Champagne Fever in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle but looks a very smart performer in the making and will ensure the selection has to work hard.
