Mahler Appeal, a winner between the flags, needs a thorough test of stamina which he may get in this very low grade handicap and his rider's claim is a massive plus. He should be thereabouts but SULAFAAT (NAP) could be the one to beat. Four times a winner on the Flat in the UK, he ran his best race for Shark Hanlon when placed at Galway in October and wouldn't need much more. Cafe Del Mar was a 50/1 chance when landing a Thurles handicap back in March but Three Comets has won on the Flat since last racing over timber. The veteran Cher Why Not has continued in good form since scoring at Clonmel in September and looks a major threat and Elusive Sea can't have been right at Roscommon after a much better run on her previous start at Wexford.
