Tom's River, Sparkling Cascade and Happy Change are among those with claims in a competitive but moderate event in which a chance is taken with Nick Gaselee's Millersford. The selection has been pulled up in his last two starts but they, like a lot of his recent outings, have been over further and, back over a more suitable distance, the son of Meadowbrook could take advantage of a lenient handicap mark. The Ron Hodges-trained Tom's River has also slipped to an attractive mark following some disappointing displays but there has been little sign of encouragement in those outings. Tony Newcombe's Sparkling Cascade showed improved form at Fontwell last time and has claims on that evidence in this company along with Happy Change, who is better than he has shown when pulled up on his last two starts.
