DAWSON CITY won this marathon in 2018 and 2019 but was pulled up last year. However, he was second behind Findusatgorcombe over course and distance again in December and won over an extended 3m2f at Wincanton last month so is clearly back on song. Bermeo wasn’t far behind runner-up Special Acceptance in last month’s Sussex National but pulled up over track and trip earlier. The latter his since finished second again at Doncaster so goes on the shortlist along with Samuel Jackson, who has won over 3m4f and looks to have been aimed at this. Last year’s winner Christmas In April is back in the right grade but possibly a few pounds too high at present. Amateur wasn’t winning out of turn at Newbury and has claims if he stays while Tea Time On Mars could go well at bigger odds. Talktomenow is the least exposed of these over fences and another to consider.
