In depth

Verdict

Telson Barley would have struggled to catch market rival Midnight Queen at Musselburgh had the latter not fallen at the last so has been done no favours by a 3lb rise. Almost Gold looked on the way back at Newbury at the start of the month and Apple Mack is getting closer to a first victory. MISTY BLOOM will have her stamina tested but her stable is in terrific form and she won here back in the autumn. Emma Lavelle’s mare is preferred to Stop The World, who flatters to deceive.
