In depth

Verdict

Templer may not have beaten a great deal when successful here over two furlongs shorter earlier this month but the Phillip Hobbs-trained gelding looks to be going the right way over fences now and is taken to follow up, getting the verdict over Nanga Parbat and Beat The Boys. The last mentioned was good value for his reappearance success at Kempton last week and has to be respected but a 7lb penalty for that success and the quick return may prevent him from following up. Sarin has to be of interest on his return now that Venetia Williams has her string back among the winners, while Capetonian showed gradual improvement with racing in France without winning but may be best watched on his British debut for Charlie Egerton. The Paul Nicholls-trained Nanga Parbat unseated his rider at the second flight on his reappearance at Chepstow and has to be of interest making his return to chasing but Templer looks to be going the right way over fences now and he is preferred.
