In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these arrive in good form including Boomtown, a winner on testing ground at Huntingdon last time. He's been raised 8lb but loves these conditions and has an obvious chance. Dungeness is brought out quickly after his all-the-way success at Warwick on Saturday though that was over the minimum trip. Catcher Star had been beaten out of sight in three races before making his handicap debut at Wetherby where he defied a last-flight error to get up on the line over that 2m4f trip. He's only been raised 5lb so a follow-up looks a distinct possibility. Cash Injection had been threatening to win a race before finally doing so over this course and distance last month. He's only a five-year-old so there should be more to come. RESIDENCE AND SPA looked well suited to a marathon when just getting up over 3m1f at Taunton but he'll be staying on better than most so is handed the vote.
