ELEGANT ESCAPE (NAP) has novice form which looks rock-solid. Though unable to confirm Newbury running with Black Corton in the Kauto Star at Kempton, he was only beaten a length-and-a-half and was overturning earlier running here with Ballyoptic, who won the Towton at Wetherby last week. Ramses De Teillee has won twice at Chepstow this season but the runner-up last time was beaten at Bangor on Friday. Pobbles Bay has been disappointing so far this season and this looks a big ask for Chic Name following a lengthy absence.
Pobbles Bay (IRE) 20-1 (11-5) Mid-division, lost place when blundered 2nd, headway 12th, close up 4 out, weakened 2 out, 7th of 20, dist behind Raz De Maree (11-1) at Chepstow 3m 5f hcp (1) hvy in Jan.
Chic Name (FR) (10-1) last of 7, dist behind Blue Dragon (10-12) at Auteuil 2m 3f sft in Apr.
