Verdict

It's impossible to oppose Calgary Bay here with Oscar Bay, Spare Cash and Beshabar three of the more obvious each-way alternatives. Calgary Bay was beaten under 8 lengths behind Breedsbreeze in the Tolworth Hurdle last time to prove that his impressive defeat of Snap Tie and I'm Singingtheblues at Cheltenham was no flash in the pan. He faces nothing of that quality in this field and this is a decent opportunity to continue his education. Oscar Bay and Spare Cash have been running well without winning and a similar scenario is likely to unfold today whilst Beshabar has a mountain to climb under his penalty today and connections feel that he may be better going left handed despite his victory here last time. Connak wasn't far behind him last time and has viable claims of reversing the form on these terms whilst Crashtown Hall is another to bear in mind but it would be a major surprise if this were to go to anything other than Calgary Bay.
