In depth

Verdict

An excellent Listed contest with four progressive types. Sir Psycho is hardest to assess as he received a tremendous amount of weight from older horses when hacking up here last time by 31l. This is tougher but it's noted that Paul Nicholls takes on the older brigade again. Kid Commando hacked up in a Plumpton maiden hurdle and takes a major rise in class whilst SPORTING JOHN has impressed in scoring over course and distance twice this season. This is his acid test and he's just preferred in receipt of 5lb from Master Debonair. The latter will make life tough for him though as he's improving with every run and will prove a formidable opponent on evidence to date.
