Solomn Grundy only gave best close home when second at Newcastle on only his second start over fences. No-one would begrudge Resolution Bay a first win over fences but he was beaten by Western Climate at Ludlow last month and is 5lb worse off. Castarnie has a good record here but he was beaten a long way behind YOU SAY WHAT when favourite in November and David Pipe’s charge went very close over 3m6f here next time. An improving stayer, he looks the one to be on today. Hansupfordetroit got back to winning ways at Uttoxeter but that was a much weaker race and Lower Hope Dandy has an absence and top weight to overcome.
