Verdict

Plenty with claims in the opener but BIG SOCIETY looks to have recorded the strongest form so far. He's gone close the last twice and just failed to catch Grouse Lodge at Uttoxeter in November. The latter has since gone in again and Tom George's charge gets the nod. Billy Dutton won over a shorter trip here last month but has a penalty to contend with today and Beckhani is preferred with a decent hurdling debut at Sandown under his belt. Lord Protector has shown enough to suggest he get involved while Toby Lerone was still travelling well when falling at Chepstow and is another to consider.
