Verdict

Nina Petrovna has the edge in experience and sets a fair standard but it’s hard to believe there won’t be at least one of her less-exposed rivals who will improve past her. Mark Johnston is bidding to win this race for the third year running and the third time in six years and his CAPE ISLAY (NAP) was probably just caught out by a lack of know-how when third over this trip at Nottingham. She’s preferred to War Eagle, who made late gains over 7f at Newmarket last month and will be even better over this extra furlong. Hypnos may be best of the rest.
