In depth

Verdict

Haseefah has run well at Goodwood in the past so she should have no problem with the gradients here and Hollie Doyle’s mount makes more appeal than stablemate Open Champion who, like Neandra, may do better over a bit further this season. SIR RUMI finished ahead of Flyin' Solo over 1m2f at Doncaster at the start of the month and didn’t get the run of the race in the Rosebery at Kempton eight days later. He rarely runs a bad race and William Buick takes over the reins today. Saligo Bay, fit from a campaign hurdling, and last month’s Lingfield winner Wonder Starelzaam should be thereabouts but Madame Ambassador was six lengths behind the selection at Doncaster in the autumn and Captain Kane needs to rediscover his best form if he is to figure.
