War Decree owes his exalted rating to his victory in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood as a two-year-old. He's only had two runs this campaign, disappointing at Newmarket in April before a better run in the French Derby. Stable companion LONG ISLAND SOUND has run here three times and won them all, including this a year ago when Tennessee Wildcat was well beaten. He hasn't run since well beaten in the Dubai Turf in March but fitness shouldn't be a problem and he can retain his unbeaten record on the surface. Abingdon won a Pontefract Listed contest in June and wasn't beaten far in subsequent Group 2 races before well beaten behind Enable in the Yorkshire Oaks. Absolute Blast has better all-weather form than most of these having won a Listed race at Kempton in April. She finished third in a Listed race in Turkey last time though has yet to prove herself at this level but Santa Monica won a Cork Group 3 in June and scored over the course and distance on her only visit here.
