Verdict

POITIN scored over the course and distance in February and followed up over shorter a month later in a rated contest when beating a horse rated 9lb higher off levels. She looks very well in here and gets the nod though the long absence is an obvious concern. Waver won this a year ago but has shown very little subsequently including over hurdles which is why he's on a 6lb lower mark. Catchy Lass gained her only victory on the track but she's still 14lb higher and though Dancingwithangels didn't run well at Roscommon last time she finds 1m2f on the short side these days and this is her trip. Mountain Kingdom has never won in 19 starts while Glendaars Best is still a maiden after the same number of runs. He's also making his debut on the surface but has been going well lately and though a few pounds out of the handicap Tom Madden's claim can steer him into the frame. The consistent Captain Carleton looks best of the remainder.
