Spring Garden continues to frustrate though she very nearly made all over the course and distance three weeks ago. However, PIVOTAL CONNECTION was staying on into third and as that was only her second run she should make enough progress to reverse the form and take this. Hope Lake had shown enough promise in maidens to start favourite for a handicap last week and though she didn't quite last home she was carrying a huge weight. Maysonette finished runner-up in a 7f claimer and has changed stables but Curly Girl has been consistent enough in similar company and has never been beaten far. Lady Nathaniel had looked a certain future winner when runner-up over 1m2f here but failed to fire when dropped to this trip last time.
