This has been run three times and very few two-year-olds have run in it but the presence of BANNOCK suggests Mark Johnston is confident the younger generation have nothing to fear. A very short-priced favourite for the lucrative Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar, he was undone by a poor draw that day but bounced back to comfortably land a York Listed race and looks the one to beat. Fellow raider Mayson ran his best race of the season when runner-up in a Listed contest at Ascot three weeks ago and looks certain to go well while the home challenge is headed by Nocturnal Affair, a classy performer in South Africa, who has been showing excellent speed for David Marnane. Balmont Mast has been raised an incredible 16lb for last week's success here which is why he's been entered at this level rather than handicaps.
