In depth

Verdict

IRON MAJOR will be staying on strongly in the closing stages and it's just a case of whether the post arrives in time. A winner over 7f here last month, he always gives his all on this track and though on his highest-ever mark is probably still improving. Greatwallofchina is also better over an extra furlong as he showed with a fine effort behind Hajoum here last month and though he's another with a 5lb rise to contend with he looks certain to give a good account. Mountain Coral has won three times here in the past and though behind Greatwallofchina last time a 6lb pull should enable him to get much closer on his favourite track. Ger Lyons has three entries and Solent Ridge may prove the best of them.
