Verdict

The veteran Russian Soul is probably still well up to winning at this level but hasn't raced since October and has a 10lb lower mark on Turf so next month's opening meeting at the Curragh may be the plan. Michael Halford also runs DARK ALLIANCE, who just failed to catch Split The Atom when well supported over the track and trip a month ago. He's 6lb out of the handicap here but his young rider can use his claim so he can reverse the form with the winner, who won again a fortnight ago. Togoville has won seven of his 16 starts on the all-weather though is on his highest mark as a consequence but Grey Danube has a chance as he's back over his best trip after failing to stay a mile last time. Captain Cullen doesn't have the greatest record here but An Saighdiur could reward each-way support in an open handicap as he's well treated on his best form.
