Hit The Bid won this last year after finishing runner-up the year before but UK runners won the previous four renewals. The former had a spell in Dubai last winter and looked on the way back to form with a very good run at this level at Newbury last time. No two-year-old has won this but Dream Shot and Dr Simpson wouldn't be travelling from the UK without hope, though the former was four lengths behind Alligator Alley in the Listed Roses Stakes at York and Joseph O'Brien's colt looks best of the youngsters. Alfred Arcano has won seven times on the track and was conceding 9lb when narrowly beaten by Blue Uluru three weeks ago so should reverse the places but EL ASTRONAUTE has visited Ireland twice, winning a Cork Listed contest then following up in a major handicap at the Curragh. John Quinn's charge has been competing at a high level subsequently and can return to winning ways.
