Jim Bolger won the first two renewals but Mandatario's only victory on the track came over two miles so this looks on the short side. HAWKE landed a tough handicap here in August and produced his best run to date when a close third behind Long Island Sound in a Group 3 here last month - that looks good enough for this. Tennessee Wildcat is a winner at this level who hasn't been able to get to grips with Group 3 company in his last two starts so the drop in grade should suit while his stable companion Elusive Heights was headed right on the line by Ringside Humour over the track and trip last month. Jonny Feane elevates Spruce Meadows to this company after landing a handicap here last month but more is required.
