In depth

Verdict

Lake Champlain showed a little bit of improvement on his opening run when fourth at Leopardstown and further progress should see him thereabouts. Wychwood Warrior looks to have a better chance at this stage after two narrow defeats including here last time. The remainder with experience have shown nothing but there are a couple of newcomers well worth a second glance. Sgt Rock is a half-brother to a winning miler in the USA and out of a mare who was a winner there. Both track and distance should be ideal and any money for him should be noted. Ger Lyons has won this twice in recent years and GAME SET DASH can continue the trend. Qatar Racing paid $150,000 for the son of Arch as a yearling and he's a half-brother to five winners including two at Group 2 level in the USA and Germany.
