Pempie scored at Salisbury for Andrew Balding and though inconsistent for new connections would have to be considered if anywhere near her best. MACABAN CITY, a close fourth to subsequent winner Romann here in November, then returned a couple of weeks later to land a course and distance handicap. He pulled too hard next time and this looks winnable. Switch Around has been disappointing so far but hasn't had much racing and a victory would greatly enhance her paddock value. Storm Elza ran her best race to date over 1m2f here last month and the longer trip could bring about more improvement while Leahman has progressed on Turf and over hurdles since he last ran here in 2018.
