Verdict

CROCKFORD finished clear of the rest when runner-up over 7f here last time. Rated 80, he should be winning a maiden race soon and is preferred to stablemate and newcomer Severus Alexander. Thrifty One is a newcomer related to a winner and could figure representing Jim Bolger’s yard while Sauron's Eye showed some ability over track and trip on his debut and should be in the mix with normal progress. Snow Ocean is worth a second glance returning to action for John Oxx and preferred to stable companion Lightning Storm.
