Bergamasco landed a nursery over a mile here and has to be respected while Port Augusta made a successful debut over 6f on the track and the runner-up Mint Man goes in today's opener. Vina Arana missed the break and never got close here in September but wasn't beaten far though the race hasn't worked out.
