WAR ENVOY is currently a 33/1 chance for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket but those odds may shrink if he wins well here. Although he never won after his initial outing, he ran in top company and wasn't beaten far at Longchamp and Santa Anita in his last two starts. He has the beating of Intense Style on their run at Naas but Jim Bolger's charge is expected to do better in his second season. Rapid Applause could provide the main threat as the lightly-raced son of Royal Applause produced some classy performances in pattern race company and looks certain to make progress this campaign. Convergence was behind the selection at Naas and there doesn't appear any reason for a form reversal.
