JACK BENE should finally get his head in front after a succession of fine but luckless performances including when falling at the last while in command at Thurles. An excellent third in a strong novices' handicap followed and he can be excused pulling up in a Grade 2 when last seen in May. He's A Delight has won three times between the flags and landed a Gowran bumper in February. Runner-up there on his hurdling debut, he should go well here along with Charlie Swift, who enjoyed stepping up in trip at Roscommon last month. Winning bumper Open Up Your Heart is the type to do well over hurdles and will have benefited from the experience gained at Gowran a fortnight ago while Kilrush, who ran very well over this C&D on fast ground in August, wasn't suited by very testing conditions at Listowel last time.
