This is always competitive and it's a long time since a favourite won. Ivanovich Gorbatov has been contesting all the big handicaps and though he hasn't won for a while his close second to Lakemilan at Killarney in August when conceding 23lb puts him in the frame for this. Stooshie is only just out of the novice stage and could do with some rain but stable companion Count Simon is best on quicker going and found 2m4f too far last time. Scheu Time makes a quick reappearance after a trot round Ayr on Monday where he had little to beat but he's better judged on his run at Aintree in April where he was in the lead when falling at the last. He'll be a threat but the vote goes to SHANNING, who won his first two starts before placed behind stable companion Low Sun over 2m7f at Galway then behind Ballyoisin in another Grade B handicap over this trip at Listowel.
