Abbey Lane has been running in point-to-points and hunter chases without much success but As De Ferbet has a very good chance of making the grade over fences. Gordon Elliott's charge finished runner-up four times over fences after arriving from France, all when very well supported, before falling at Ballinrobe in August. He should lose his maiden tag soon but may have to give best to HURRICANE DARWIN (NAP) here. Alan Fleming's charge progressed nicely over hurdles before making his chasing bow at Thurles in March where he would have won but for a last-fence fall. Compensation awaits here though Gavin Cromwell's star is in the ascendency after two winners at Punchestown so the lightly raced point-to-point and hurdles winner Midnight Theatre shouldn't be dismissed and Mick Thonic has always been regarded as a potentially decent chaser.
