Athollblair Boy was third over 7f here last month but gives the impression he’s a few pounds too high at present. Mutanaaseq missed the break here last time having been very consistent this season up to that point. UBAHHA was still showing signs of inexperience at Yarmouth but was clearly suited by the drop in distance being speedily bred. He starts off in handicaps at a realistic level and should be thereabouts. Captain Vallo improved to score at Hamilton but has gone up 8lb while Sound Reason is having a first try beyond 5f. Thornaby Pearl is preferred to veteran Lucky Beggar of the remainder.
