Verdict

Right Action and Silvestre De Sousa teamed-up to win last year’s renewal but that was on testing ground and Richard Fahey’s charge was sharp from racing on the all-weather. Portledge has been in good form on the all-weather recently and beat Esprit De Corps over today’s trip at Newcastle last month but Queen's Sargent is another who may prefer softer ground having ended last term with a second at Redcar. SALUTI (NAP) won twice last year and has switched yards and undergone wind surgery subsequently. Back on a winning mark with Oisin Murphy’s presence another positive, Paul Midgley’s new charge makes most appeal of the yard’s four runners ahead of Buccaneers Vault. First Response is another debuting for new connections having won a maiden at Dundalk in November and could go well on his handicap debut.
