      Verdict

      Onemorefortheroad made a winning start over the larger obstacles here before Christmas. There is plenty of scope for further improvement but he has been raised 7lb so has to give 15lb to CHANCEUX, who has only gone up 4lb after getting off the mark in cosy fashion at Hereford. Parisencore can build on a second at Ayr and Ukantango also found only one too good at Wetherby while Richhill will probably be winning once he sorts out his jumping.

      Ukantango (IRE) 9-2 (11-13) Chased leaders, hit 7th and dropped to rear but in touch, pushed along home turn, stayed on from 3 out, hung left after 2 out, ridden and pressed leader last, kept on, always held, 2nd of 5, 1 3/4l behind Cerendipity (11-8) at Wetherby 1m 7f hcp (4) sft in Nov.

      Richhill (IRE) 11-1 (10-7) Tracked leader, lost 2nd briefly 8th, ridden 2 out, kept on same pace, 3rd of 6, 9 1/2l behind Djelo (11-10) at Newbury 2m hcp (3) gs in Dec.

      Chanceux (IRE) 5-1 (10-6) Made all, soon clear, reduced lead 7th, faced strong challenge from 5 out, forged 1 length ahead home turn, pushed out run-in to assert closing stages, won at Hereford 2m hcp (3) gd in Dec beating Beau Balko (11-5) by 3l, 4 ran.
