Verdict
A winner over 1m4f on soft ground on the Flat, COCKNEY SPARROW made a very promising start to her hurdles career when second to favourite L'Unique in a Listed contest at Aintree. The front two were a long way clear of the others and John Quinn's filly should go one better here though L'Unique's trainer, Alan King, saddles Our Phylli Vera and she's another proven on the going and likely to be winning soon. Madeira Girl, another useful sort on the level, was third on her hurdling debut for Jonjo O'Neill at Leicester and will have learned plenty from the experience. She should be the pick of the remainder as Scarlett Fever may find the ground too testing.
