Sea Cadet has fair claims in a race that won't take a great deal of winning and is preferred to Ocarina and Jeringa. A host of these are unraced or have had just the odd start over fences and a market move for one of the unexposed runners would be of interest. Sea Cadet is one of the more exposed runners having had four starts over the larger obstacles, finishing second twice. He stays, appears to act on the ground well enough and should be involved. Ocarina is still unproven at this trip but he should stay this far and the form of his win at Musselburgh was given a boost when the second hacked up back at the same venue earlier in the week. He was a shade unfortunate to unseat last time as he appeared to stumble and he's respected. Jeringa showed improved form for the fitting of blinkers to win readily at Sedgefield over two and a half miles. It wasn't a great race and he has only gone up 6lbs in the handicap which is far from prohibitive and it would be no surprise to see him go close again now that he's found his form. A market check is advised but Sea Cadet gets the vote.
