A chance for the old boys to show they've still got it and we'll take TRABOLGAN to return to winning ways from Mister McGoldrick and Chief Dan George. The former Hennessy Gold Cup winner has not won since that day at Newbury back in 2005, but he's only had three starts since owing to pretty severe injury problems. The last of them came in December when he took fourth at Cheltenham in a really good handicap, so dropping down a couple of pounds and taking on fellow old-timers he rates a bet. Mister McGoldrick has been around forever and continues to run well even when parted with his beloved Wetherby. He's been generously dropped 5lbs for a very solid third last time but three miles has always stretched his stamina. Tamarinbleu ran better than the bare form suggests last time out at Warwick. This former grade one winner is nothing if not versatile having taken on the very best over two miles and three, so with Danny Cook's claim helping he's in with a shout. We just prefer Chief Dan George of the rest though, this 10-year-old a relative youngster in the context of the race. He looked promising last spring and might be worth another chance over fences having disappointed in a graded hurdle race last time out. Yes Sir has proved a nice money-spinner over the years but is probably best watched until he can bounce off the ground in the summer somewhere like Market Rasen, whilst Brooklyn Brownie looked badly out of love with the game when last seen and looks worth taking on. Aleron ran poorly on the flat when last seen and is up against it whilst Rambling Minster is at his best when the mud is flying. At his best Trabolgan wipes the floor with these and whilst those days are gone we're still hoping he mops up.
