Alan King and Philip Hobbs are both double-handed in this. The former has the top two in the handicap and Medermit usually competes in better company, though it's more than three years since the veteran grey last won a race. Godsmejudge is making his seasonal reappearance and prefers better ground. Hobbs runs the hat-trick seeking Royal Player and If In Doubt with the latter likely to be preferred in the betting. He's only a novice but potentially well treated, though his jumping has been a bit erratic so far. Easter Day should improve on his run at Newbury and his stable has won this twice in the last 10 years while Lost Legend and Fairy Rath are recent winners, though this may be too far for the latter and Baileys Concerto. Grandads Horse just held off Night In Milan here last month but Keith Reveley's stayer should reverse running on better terms, though didn't do himself justice in this last year. RENARD looks to have decent credentials as he's run well at Haydock and Aintree already this season and possibly went off too quickly on heavy going at Chepstow last time. Venetia Williams' bold jumper looks overpriced at the current odds.
