Successful in a valuable sales race here as a juvenile, King's Lynn was no match for the smart Starman on his reappearance but probably saw too much daylight when a beaten favourite in the Ayr Silver Cup next time. However, he now has ground to make up on the likes of Aberama Gold, Bernardo O'Reilly, Aplomb and Danzan. Tranchee won over an extra half-furlong here last month, when Danzan and Broken Spear were behind, and followed that up with a good second behind Gulliver at York but he has gone up a further 2lb. JONAH JONES was just behind Rathbone at Ascot last time but had to be switched in the closing stages. On slightly better terms, he can take his revenge and win for the first time since 2018.
