Verdict

Wogan should prove tough to beat as he won twice around here last season and is most consistent. A respectable third at Haydock on his reappearance in November, he is 2lb lower here but the handicapper has also given a real chance to BROOKLYN BROWNIE. Malcolm Jefferson's top weight ran well for a long way behind Blazing Bailey at Cheltenham when returning from a lay-off and now races off the same mark as when just beaten in Uttoxeter's Summer National last June. Rambling Minster has the blinkers back on after failing to sparkle at Catterick last month but is probably on the downgrade, while Lennon is likely to struggle over this longer trip. Briery Fox should be all the better for his reappearance at Wincanton, however, and Dark Ben won at Musselburgh 12 days ago, though is taking on better opposition here
