There was plenty of confidence behind BUCKWHEAT on his hurdling debut at Catterick and he didn't disappoint, quickening clear of toiling rivals form the second-last having travelled strongly throughout. He has an entry in the Supreme Novices' and, with plenty more to come, should double his tally here. Days Of Heaven had been a tad disappointing before winning a maiden hurdle at Ludlow but that victory should have boosted his confidence and he looks the danger. Engrossing has already run well in a couple of decent novice events over this track and trip and will be interesting when tackling handicaps. He probably has stronger place prospects than Pied Du Roi and Charlie Breekie.
